TENSIONER PULLEY ACTUATED INTERMEDIATE SHAFT MULTIPLE BANANA FIBRE EXTRACTOR
Other
Increasing cost of energy in Nigeria, and the need to reduce green gas emissions prompts alternative energy development and energy efficiency practice. Energy efficiency is the concept of using less energy to perform the same task, without compromising the quality of the output. It involves using technology, processes, and practices that reduce the amount of energy needed to produce a certain output. Energy efficiency minimizes energy waste by using less energy to perform tasks efficiently. This invention is an Energy efficiency intervention of the African University of Science & Technology (AUST) in the University’s Biomass Conversion to Viable Products Initiative programme. Many industrialists and entrepreneurs shall benefit from the technology. The flywheel characteristics exhibited by the beater shaft enables the incorporation of Tensioner Pulley actuated Intermediate Shaft mechanism and thereby make it possible for one 5kW electric motor which usually powers a single Banana fibre extractor to conveniently power two or more Extractors at the same time.
