S models are implemented in various programming languages using various strategies. There is a scientific need to couple these models for larger simulations. Therefore there is a need for interoperability between these software components. Several attempts have been made to achieve this through the use of web services and middleware technologies. This work aims at studying DEVS model interoperability through the use of Virtual Machines. In computing, Virtual Machines have been used to provide software portability and a high level abstraction of computing resources. Our goal is to leverage these benefits to provide a simulation environment for heterogeneous models.en_US
