Work reported herein was conducted at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology research program supported in part by the Advanced Research Projects Agency of the Department of Defense and monitored by the Office of Naval Research under Contract Number N00014-70-A-0362-0003.en
The problem of hidden-line drawings of scenes composed of opaque polyhedra is considered. The use of Huffnan labeling is suggested as a method if simplifying the task and increasing its intuitive appeal. The relation between the hidden-line problem and scene recognition is considered. Finally, an extension to the hidden-line processor, allowing dynamic viewing of changing scenes, is suggested. That process can be made far more efficient through the use of Change-Driven Processing, where computations on unchanging inputs are not repeated.en
