Adolfo Guzman's SEE program groups the regions of a two-dimensional scene into bodies, using, using local evidence in the scene to link regions together. This paper discusses an extended version of the SEE procedure that makes extensive use of evidence in the scene which indicated that two regions should be split into separate bodies. The new procedure is better in several ways: 1) it correctly analyzes many scenes for which SEE makes mistakes; 2) it can interact with a higher-level object-recognizing program; 3) it can provide alternative solutions on demand.en_US
