We attempt the design and development of an educational game based on the Input-Process-Outcome model. This tool helps students and other professionals to learn and appreciate the decision-making processes carried out by ...

We propose a framework for formal analysis of DEVS Driven Modeling Language (DDML) models in order to assess and evaluate the properties of DDML models. This framework semantically maps the hierarchical levels of DDML: ...

DEVS models are implemented in various programming languages using various strategies. There is a scientific need to couple these models for larger simulations. Therefore there is a need for interoperability between these ...

A Hybrid Cloud refers to a cloud computing environment that provides pay-as-you-go services to users using the integration of public and private clouds resources. Cloud computing is one of the latest areas in the field of ...

In different parts of the world especially African and Asian continents, students attend classes and taught in groups using the same method of teaching applied to all students irrespective of whether or not they have the ...

C-DEVS is a formalism for modeling and analysis of discrete event systems. It refers to the original formalism defined by Zeigler in 1976. While the simulation algorithms are well defined, their implementation is a challenge ...

The usage of computers in Physics Instruction began in the seventies and ever since then, lots of research efforts have been devoted to studying various emerging technologies and their impact on the learning process. ...

We present Automated Code Synthesis for Modeling and Simulation, a MDA [1] approach to Modeling and Simulation with DEVS [2] formalism. The DEVS-Driven Modeling Language (DDML) [3] has been defined to ease simulation ...

We propose DEVS-Driven Modeling Language (DDML), a graphical notation for DEVS [1] modeling and an Eclipse-based graphical editor, Eclipse-DDML. DDML attempts to bridge the gap between expert modelers and domain experts ...

The hoist scheduling problem is a critical issue in the design and control of many manufacturing processes. When the hoist number and tank numbers are very large, finding an optimal schedule is very hard. As a result of ...

Nowadays, shifts in Hardware and Software technologies have forced designers and users to look at micro-architecture that process instructions stream with high performance and low power consumption. In Striving for such ...

With the increase in the possibility of incorporating multiple cores on a single chip (MCSoC), the issue of an efficient interconnection that is scalable, takes up small area and has low power consumption must be taken ...

Basically electrocardiography is a commonly used, non-invasive procedure for recording electrical changes in the heart. The record, which is called an electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), shows the series of waves that relate ...

Discrete Event System Specification (DEVS) formalism is a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) framework that provides a means of specifying an object called a system. This work presents implementations of this formalism using ...

Current advancement in VLSI technology allows more circuit to be integrated on a single chip forming a System on Chip (SoC). The state of art in on-chip intermodule connection of using a shared bus with a common arbiter ...

Network – On – Chip (NoC) communication architecture have emerged as a solution to problem of lack of scalability, clock delay, lack of support for concurrent communication and power consumption exhibited by the shared bus ...

In the world today, the size of complex problems and systems has increased, due to the advances in technology and the area of computer design and architecture. Modeling and predicting the behaviour of complex systems ...
